Myths and Realities
About Covintec
Myth 1
The panels do not carry any load, they only function as decorative and dividing elements.
Reality 1
The panels are used as load-bearing walls, as they can support more than 10 tons per linear meter at a height of 2.44 meters. They do not require reinforcement castles or chains, so they can be built up to three levels.
Myth 2
Buildings made of panels do not last.
Reality 2
The life of buildings made with panels is similar to those made with solid concrete, so they can last more than a hundred years.
Myth 3
Buildings made with panels cannot withstand the onslaught of natural phenomena in extreme conditions such as earthquakes, hurricanes and fires.
Reality 3
The paneled buildings resisted the passage of the largest hurricanes that crossed Mexico without any damage. Furthermore, due to their three-dimensional structure of high-resistance steel and the concrete with which they are covered, they were able to resist earthquakes.
Myth 4
Building with panels is more expensive than with traditional materials.
Reality 4
Buildings with panels are less expensive than those made of traditional materials such as brick and cement and sand blocks, since they do not require reinforcement, the elements for construction are minimal, which reduces waste and losses, the movement of materials is minimal, indirect costs and construction time are reduced by up to 50% and the plumbing and electrical installations are integrated from the rough construction.
